I think that I've commented before on the German mania for ice cream -- even in the midst of what you'd think would be very anti-ice-cream conditions, like cold temperatures, snow, sleet, and driving rain. Given this, last night I remarked to Shelby on how strange it was that our cafeteria at work didn't have an ice cream freezer.
Well, this morning I walk into the cafeteria -- and guess what's sitting there, brand-new and still plastic-wrapped! There's a suggestion list taped to the lid, where we can ask for the brands of ice cream that we'd like to see stocked inside. (Too bad I don't know the name of the ice cream sandwiches with the Smarties inside that we saw while grocery shopping.)
I wonder what took so long for the ice cream freezer to appear -- I'm sure that we were violating some obscure labor law by not having one in place already.
