The Teeth: It looks like both of us have to make multiple visits; this week I only got the root canal and a temporary crown. They gave me a prescription for Vicodin, but I haven't had much pain so far; just a really stiff jaw and a once-in-awhile omigod! twinge if I happen to bite down directly on top of the crown. The real anguish is mental; I can't stop running my tongue over this metal invader in my mouth where a real tooth used to be. Hopefully it won't take me long to get used to the permanent crown ...
(The money thing is working out just fine, too. Out-of-pocket cost to us is in the hundreds, not -- my fear -- the thousands, which we can cover with our medical savings account.)
