The Hague

We started our last full day by taking a bus tour to The Hague, seat of the Dutch government and home to various international governmental institutions.
This rather grandiose building is the Peace Palace, built by Andrew Carnegie in 1913. Currently it's home to the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
Build a giant building, get your own street!
The Binnenhof, oldest and innermost part of the castles and governmental buildings that make up the core of The Hague. The tower where the Dutch Prime Minister has his office.

Keukenhof Gardens

Keukenhof Gardens was our last stop of the tour. It's a cross between Disneyland and Brigadoon, in that it's a gigantic national tourist attraction that's only open for a limited time (two months!) each year.

As you can see, we were sharing the secret with only a few thousand of our closest friends (and one Beagle!)
