No doubt by now you've heard about the woman who was "trampled" trying to get into Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving by all of the people rushing in to get those $29 DVD players. Well, turns out she's a Frequent Faller with 16 injury claims, 9 of them at Wal-Mart. The article gives examples of claims she's made where she's slipped and fallen (5 of the 8 examples the articles give) and gotten back strain (2 out of 8) doing such strenuous jobs as working the snack counter and layaway. I don't know how you get back strain working the snack counter but boy those boxes of popcorn sure are a killer.
Sounds to me like this whole thing was staged for a little holiday publicity and some cash settlements. It's really an appalling shame that frauds people like this continue to file injury and worker's compensation claims that make it hard for people who legitimately get hurt to get compensation.
