A very happy Easter to all of you who celebrate, and for those who don't, a very happy Candy Day brought to you by some sort of vaguely terrifying 6 foot rabbit (a' la Donnie Darko or Harvey).
Our dinner last night was a smashing success. Lessons learned:
We need one more set of dinner plates/bowls/cereal bowls/dessert plates (they come in a set of 6--perfect)
We need about 18 or so bread plates
We need a more complete set of our fancy silverware (or should I say stainless steelware--I'm not polishing anything, believe me)
We need some kind of matching, fancy drinking glasses.
We need some kind of serving platter
But hey, we're fledgling hosts, so we'll get there! Everything turned out very well, except the ham didn't get as warm on the inside as we wanted. That's was okay, we just cut off a bunch of slices at a time and zapped 'em in the microwave and they were great. I have to say, I love ham from other places, but brand-name Honeybaked is the best.
(Warning: Disturbing Easter image below. Not for the faint of heart!)
Posted by Shelby at March 27, 2005 10:37 AMIsn't it amazing how quickly you can burn through small plates? I'm always shocked when we go through like 12 of them, and there's only three people eating. Silverware is the same, I find - there's always one more thing that needs a spoon or knife....
